The mission of the Blue River Watershed Group is to promote, protect and restore a healthy Blue River watershed through cooperative community education, stewardship, and resource management.
The Blue River Watershed Group (BRWG) was founded in 2004 by a group of local community members who were passionate about protecting and preserving the health of the Blue River Basin. Our mission is to promote, protect, and restore a healthy Blue River watershed through cooperative community education, stewardship, and resource management. We focus on the entire watershed, which drains an area of about 680 square miles covering all of Summit County and portions of Grand and Lake Counties. Join us in our mission to restore and protect the Blue River, a vital tributary of the Colorado River.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled
veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. These monthly activities and classes are ‘no cost‘ to our veteran participants. The Colorado Alpine program has amazing volunteers and sponsors who help us equip and teach our participants to become independent anglers.

The Colorado Alpine Program supports veteran participants from Summit, Park, Grand, Lake & Eagle Counties

Mountain Top Explorium is a community resource that nurtures connection between children and their world through exploration, creativity, and relationships.

In 2024, BreckF3T provided funding for the Explorium staff to include lessons about basic fly fishing technique and lessons about water quality and macroinvertebrates into four different lesson blocks throughout the summer. In total, approximately 175 unique campers participated in both lessons of fly
fishing technique and stream survey.

For 2025, the Explorium is being funded to expand its 'Angler Adventures - STEM Enrichment' program with BreckF3T support.
BreckF3T is excited to announce the creation of a scholarship fund for graduating Summit High School students pursuing advanced education in stream ecology or related conservation focused programs. Information on the application process will be available on this website in early 2025.
